Tixomics™ was founded in 2024 by Dr. Bassem Ben Cheikh, who serves as its CEO and brings over a decade of experience in biomedical image analysis, bioinformatics, and Spatial Biology. With expertise in artificial intelligence and biomedical imaging, he has led groundbreaking efforts in developing tools for multiplex immunofluorescence image analysis and high-dimensional single cell data.

Before founding Tixomics™, Bassem served as a Senior Data Scientist and Technical Group Lead at Akoya Biosciences, where he built and led a team developing computational solutions for spatial proteomics data analysis. He played a pivotal role in advancing image processing pipelines and bioinformatics-driven customer insights, including contributions to the PhenoCycler™-Fusion platform, fostering collaborations with leading research institutions, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies.

Bassem's academic journey includes a PhD in Computer Science from Sorbonne University, where he pioneered methods combining graph-theory and machine learning for Digital Pathology image analysis. His contributions extend across multiple high-impact publications in Nature, Cell Reports, and Cancer Cell, demonstrating his expertise in tissue omics analytics.

With a passion for innovation and problem-solving, Bassem founded Tixomics™ to address the growing need for sophisticated, scalable software solutions in Spatial Biology. Under his leadership, the company is redefining how researchers analyze and interpret complex spatial omics data.
